How to Add Text or Image Watermarks to PDF Documents

Sharing draft proposals, confidential financial models, or copyrighted creative work requires safeguarding against unauthorized distribution. Watermarking is the simplest and most effective visual deterrent against leaks.

Stamping 'CONFIDENTIAL', 'DRAFT', or your company's transparent logo across pages establishes ownership and reminds readers that the document is protected.

Text Watermarks vs. Image Watermarks

  • Text Watermarks: Ideal for status markers such as 'CONFIDENTIAL', 'SAMPLE ONLY', 'DO NOT DISTRIBUTE', or 'APPROVED'. Customize typography, font size, diagonal rotation (e.g. 45°), and transparency.
  • Image Watermarks: Perfect for brand consistency. Stamp your company emblem or official seal with subtle translucency so background text remains readable.
